The left-arm pacer has had a memorable 2023 in which he had a trophy-laden period in the international tournaments and recently became the most expensive buy ever in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) when Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) went into a bidding war with Gujarat Titans (GT) and emerged victorious by outbidding them by placing a bid of a mammoth 24.75 crore in the recently held IPL 2024 Auction in Dubai, on December 19. The former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) player previously played the cash-rich league back in 2014 and 2015 season for the Bangalore-based franchise and had a great outing in both the seasons as he managed to scalp 34 wickets in 26 matches across those two seasons.
The New South Wales-born cricketer caps off his 2023 International Test year with 44 wickets in which he managed to help Australia win the World Test Championship and retain The Ashes.
