WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah Joins Kohli & Co At Nets In Visakhapatnam
Bumrah has been called to Vizag so that his post-rehabilitation recovery could be assessed
Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has returned to the field as a net bowler to his Indian tams ahead of the 2nd ODI against West Indies on Wednesday in Visakhapatnam. He, along with Prithvi Shaw, joined the men-in-blue at Tuesday’s practice session. He has been out of action ever since the West Indies tour in July-August due to a stress fracture on his back.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) tweeted a photograph of Bumrah in training uniform, captioning it, “Look who is here.”Jasprit Bumrah is back in the nets 👀 pic.twitter.com/i3RmQaeC2C

As per reports, Bumrah has been called to Vizag so that his post-rehabilitation recovery could be assessed. While his body was on auto-heal mode, he still went to the UK for consultation as the BCCI didn't wish to take any chance with the pacer's back. On the other hand, Prithvi has been named in the India A team that will play two four-day games against New Zealand A just before the Test series begins. The youngster came back after an 8-month ban and slammed 3 fifties in four Syed Mushtaq Ali matches. Shaw also began this first-class season with an elegant 66 against Baroda in the opening Ranji Trophy game. Team India will be hosting both Sri Lanka and Australia in January before heading to New Zealand for a full-fledged tour which consists of two Tests, three-ODIs and five T20I and that is where head coach Ravi Shastri and team want Bumrah to be 100 per cent fit. It has been further learned that Bumrah could be brought back into the national team for the ODI series against Australia as the management might not want to rush him for the Sri Lanka series in the first week of January.
