Virender Sehwag, the former India opener and esteemed as one of the greatest openers in international cricket, revealed that he once received a big offer from the Big Bash League in Australia.
During a conversation with former Australia cricketer Adam Gilchrist, Virender Sehwag revealed that he was once offered $100,000 by a Big Bash League franchise, but he declined the offer.
Sehwag was asked if Indian players would consider playing in the Big Bash League. The Indian batting legend responded to Gilchrist in his trademark witty style, suggesting that there's no need for Indian cricketers to play BBL as "they are rich and don't go to poor countries".

"No, Don't need, we are rich people, we don't go to poor countries for other leagues. I still remember when I was dropped from Indian team, I was playing IPL, then I got offer from BBL that I should participate in Big Bash, I said okay how much money, they said $100,000. I said I can spend that money in my holidays, even last night bill was more than $100,000," Sehwag revealed.
Currently, Virender Sehwag is working as a cricket expert in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
