Surprisingly, a few big names have been excluded in Pathan’s preferred 15-men squad for the upcoming marquee event.

Irfan Pathan’s 15-Man India Squad For T20 World Cup 2024
In Irfan Pathan's preferred squad for the T20 World Cup 2024, the top-order comprises Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Virat Kohli, providing flexibility for the opening slots. Shubman Gill serves as a reserve option. Additionally, Kohli and Gill can also slot into the No. 3 position.
Moving to the middle-order, he picked Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube, with Hardik Pandya serving as the sole pace-bowling all-rounder. Notably, Sanju Samson doesn't find a place in the squad, leaving Pant as the solitary wicket-keeper. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are other prominent omissions from the lineup.

Coming to spinner, Pathan picked Ravindra Jadeja as the sole spin-bowling all-rounder, along with Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav. For the pace department, he picked Jasprit Bumrah alongside Mohammed Siraj and Arshdeep Singh.
The India Squad for the T20 World Cup is set to be unveiled this week, presenting a challenge for the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee.
