Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh Hail Rishabh Pant As ‘Most Australian’ Indian Cricketer— Watch

As the excitement for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 builds, Australia's Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh hail Rishabh Pant as the 'most Australian, Indian cricketer.

Rishabh Pant made a stellar comeback to the longer format of cricket as he scored his sixth Test century in the India vs Bangladesh Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium last week. Playing after over 600 days owing to a near-fatal car accident, Pant’s quickfire ton helped India win the Chepauk Test by 280 runs. With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 also on the horizon, Pant’s good form is an ominous sign for the Australian side. However, they can’t help but remain in awe of the Gabba hero from the 2020-21 IND vs AUS Test series.

In a video uploaded by Star Sports, Australian batters Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh praise the Indian wicket-keeper batter and both pick Pant as the 'Indian cricketer who is most Australian'.

"The Indian cricketer I believe is most Australian would be Rishabh Pant. I think the way he goes about his aggressive nature, the way he goes about his work, he'd be very enjoyable to play with," Head told Star Sports.

Mitchell Marsh went far enough to say that he wishes Pant was Australian as he sees the Indian wicketkeeper as highly competitive and yet a relaxed person.

"He's a ripping bloke. I wish he was Australian. He's obviously been through a lot the last few years. Hell of a comeback. He's a positive guy, he's still very young, he loves winning. He's highly competitive for someone who, I guess, has the persona of being relaxed - always laughing and smiling. He has got that big smile," Marsh opined about the Indian wicketkeeper in the same video.
