T20 World Cup Super 8: Clear Weather For IND vs AFG But Other Matches Face Rain Threat

All Super 8 matches will be hosted by West Indies. The venues in Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, and St Vincent will host 12 Super 8 matches, with rain predicted for nearly all of them.

The group stage of ICC T20 World Cup 2024 i.e. the USA-led will conclude with West Indies vs Afghanistan match on Tuesday, June 18. So far, three matches in Florida have been canceled due to rain, and there is a looming threat of rain affecting the upcoming Super 8 matches.

All Super 8 matches, the semi-finals, and the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will be hosted by West Indies. The venues in Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, and St Vincent will host 12 Super 8 matches, with rain predicted for nearly all of them.

So far, in ICC T20 World Cup 2024, rain has already affected five matches, including four washouts.

Rain chances at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados:

Apart from T20 World Cup 2024 final, three Super 8 matches will be played in Barbados. Rain might play spoilsport in two Super 8 matches at this venue except the one between India vs Afghanistan on June 20, which has a 10-20% chance of rain. T20 World Cup final match, scheduled for June 29, may also be affected by rain.

Rain chances at Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, St Lucia: 

The Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia will host three Super 8 matches, including the highly-octane IND vs AUS match on June 24. While the weather conditions appear favorable for England's matches against West Indies and South Africa on June 20 and 21, the forecast for June 24 is not promising. Currently, there is a 50% chance of rain for IND vs AUS match.

Rain chances at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua:

Rain has already impacted England vs Namibia match on June 15, causing a delayed start of about four hours due to a wet outfield despite no rain. Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua is set to host four Super 8 fixtures, with each match facing a 20-25% chance of rain.

Rain chances at Arnos Vale Stadium in Arnos Vale, near Kingstown, St. Vincent:

The Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown will host two Super 8 matches. While rain hasn't impacted the group games at this venue, the weather forecast for the Super 8 matches looks unfavorable. There is a 52% chance of rain for Australia vs Afghanistan match on June 23. If the match is washed out, it could significantly influence the Super 8 Group 1 standings.
