Rahmanullah Gurbaz Notches Up Seventh Career Ton In AFG vs SA 2nd ODI; Afghanistan Sense History
Rahmanullah Gurbaz brought up his seventh ODI ton in style, with a boundary off Aiden Markram as Afghanistan are in a superb position in the 2nd ODI against South Africa.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz notched up his seventh ODI hundred in the ongoing Afghanistan vs South Africa (AFG vs SA) 2nd ODI in Sharjah on Friday (September 20). Gurbaz got to the landmark with a boundary off Aiden Markram to get past the three-figure mark in 107 balls. Courtesy of a sublime hundred from Gurbaz, Afghanistan are in a very comfortable position against the Proteas with the scoreboard reading 187/1 after 34 overs.
Given the kind of situation Afghanistan find themselves in, they are sensing history after having beaten South Africa for the first time in an ODI in the series opener. If they continue in a similar fashion, the Afghans will give themselves a good chance of a historic series win after having reached the semifinals of the T20 World Cup earlier this year, beating the likes of Australia en route to a place in the final four.
𝐇𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐃!!! 💯@RGurbaz_21 puts on a terrific batting performance and brings up his 7th ODI century to become the first Afghan batter to achieve this feat in the format. 🤩
