Islamabad United clinched a five-wicket victory in the Eliminator 2 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 against Peshawar Zalmi on March 16 (Saturday), earning them a spot in the final match against Multan Sultans, set to take place on March 18 (Monday).

Peshawar Zalmi, batting first, put up a formidable total of 185/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Saim Ayub top-scored with 73 runs, while Mohammad Haris contributed 40 runs. Babar Azam added 25 runs, while Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Aamer Jamel made valuable contributions with 18 and 17 runs respectively.

Naseem Shah emerged as the primary wicket-taker for Islamabad United, claiming three wickets while conceding 30 runs in his four overs. Additionally, Obed McCoy and Shadab Khan each took one wicket.

In response, Islamabad United managed to chase down the target with one over to spare and five wickets in hand. Despite a shaky start that saw them at 91/5 in 11 overs, Imad Wasim (59*), Haider Ali (52*), and Azam Khan (22) played crucial innings to guide their team to victory.
