PM Modi's gift to Imran Khan will remind him of his cricketing days
Imran Khan will take oath as Prime Minister of Pakistan on August 18
Imran Khan, the cricketer turned politician, is all set to become the 19th Prime Minister of Pakistan. Ahead of his swearing-in ceremony on August 18, the former cricketer has received a heartwarming gift from the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A cricket bat, carrying the autographs of the entire Indian cricket team, has been gifted to Imran. India's envoy to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria met him on Friday and gifted him the bat on the behalf of PM Modi. The Indian High Commissioner along with other diplomatic staff congratulated the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief on his electoral success in the July 26 polls in which the Khan-led party emerged victorious with 116 seats in the National Assembly.

Earlier, PM Modi had spoken to Imran Khan, chairperson of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party and congratulated him and his party for emerging as the largest political party in the recently conducted general elections. Congratulating PTI chief, Modi expressed hope that democracy will take deeper roots in Pakistan.
Senator Faisal Javed said on Friday that Imran Khan will take oath as Prime Minister on August 18. Javed also confirmed that three former Indian cricketers Kapil Dev, Novjot Singh Sidhu and Sunil Gavaskar had been invited to the oath-taking ceremony.
