For a team that had never beaten Pakistan in a Test match, Bangladesh did nearly the unimaginable going on to win their maiden Test series over Pakistan in a specactular fashion that too in the opponent's own backyard.

Pakistan, on the other hand, were looking to level the series and had their tails up when they had got Bangladesh reeling at 26/6 in the first innings after posting 274. However, Litton Das' ton paved the way for a sensational comeback for the Bangla Tigers and they managed to post 262 before bowling out Pakistan for 172 in the second innings and chasing down the target of 185, 4 downs to script history.

The result means Pakistan's chances of making it to the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table have taken a massive hit, with the Men in Green slipping to the eighth position. The Shan Masood-led side have managed only 16 points from 7 matches which is why they find themselves in the bottom half of the points table.
