Talking about the tournament, the Kangaroos have sealed the World Cup title for a record sixth time. They outplayed the Indian team by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After asking India to bat first, Australian bowlers restricted them to just 240 and chased down the target in just 43 overs.
Travis Head was the star with the bat and as a result, he was named the Player of the Match for his brilliant century in the final. After losing the World Cup, India’s next project will be a T20I series against Australia, taking place in Visakhapatnam on Thursday. Senior players from both teams will not be taking part in the upcoming series including Cummins, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and others.
The Australian team will be captained by Matthew Wade while Suryakumar Yadav will lead the Indian with Ruturaj Gaikwad being his deputy for the first three games. Shreyas Iyer will then join the squad for the fourth and fifth T20Is as Surya’s deputy.
