'Mumbai Ya Trinidad' - Rohit Sharma Comes Up With A Witty Post After 2nd Test vs West Indies Ends In A Tie

On Tuesday, Rohit posted a photo with Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Mukesh Kumar, and Virat Kohli on his social media account following the second Test.

India's skipper Rohit Sharma took to is social media handle and shared a witty post after the 2nd Test of the last series against West Indies ended in a draw on Monday.

India had cemented a strong foundation in the second test against West Indies so when they came to bat, they needed to achieve a score of 289 runs. India needed to clinch 8 wickets to seal the series at Port of Spain in Trinidad, but the rain had different plans, not even a single bowl was bowled due to persistent rain. The visitors thus clasped the two-match series by a 1-0 margin.

On Tuesday, Rohit posted a photo with Ishan Kishan, Ajinkya Rahane, Mukesh Kumar, and Virat Kohli on his social media account following the second Test. The caption of the post attracted a lot of attention since it said: “Mumbai ya Trinidad”

The caption was accompanied by a thinking face and a cloud emoji. The Indian Skipper who hails from Mumbai knows that the city is also witnessing heavy rains, so Rohit wrote the caption in reference to the fact that both Mumbai and Trinidad have been experiencing heavy rainfall.

A gist of the Second Test- Looking back on the Trinidad Test, Virat Kohli (121) recorded his 76th hundred as India batted first and totaled 438. Yashasvi Jaiswal had another strong performance, scoring 57 and 38, while captain Rohit amassed half-centuries in each of his innings (80 and 57). Ishan Kishan reached his first Test half-century in the second innings (52* off 34).

West Indies were bowled out for 255 in their first innings, with Mohammed Siraj recording his career-best figures of 5/60, while left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja and rookie pacer Mukesh Kumar also claimed two wickets each. When play was halted owing to bad weather in the second inning, the hosts were at 76/2.

India could have maintained the top position on the World Test Championship (WTC) points table if the has whitewashed the Caribbean Team taking a lead of 2-0, but the persistent rain tumbled down the plans. India now has slipped to number two in the WTC points table.

After the Test series, the men in blue will now look forward to playing three ODIs against West Indies, which is all set to begin from 27 July onwards.
