New Delhi: Mumbai Indians stalled the progress of defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad by beating them by 4 wickets in an IPL match in Mumbai.

Mumbai knocked off the 159 run target courtesy a matured innings by Nitish Rana and healthy contribution from Parthiv Patel (39) and Krunal Pandya.

Previous match hero Nitish Rana again came to fore with a 45 off 36 balls and anchored the Mumbai chase.

Krunal Pandya scored a breezy 37 off 20 balls, which further took the game away from Sunrisers.

Along with Rana, Krunal added 38 runs in 3.3 overs and Rana's contribution was a single. Krunal hit three fours and three huge sixes -- one each of Ashish Nehra, Ben Cutting and Rashid Khan.

Sunrisers’ Ace fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman went the distance as he ended with figures of 0 for 34 in 2.4 overs.

Earlier it was a disciplined bowling that helped Mumbai restrict a strong Sunrisers batting to 158.

Jasprit Bumrah was the most impressive for Mumbai by picking up 3 wickets for 24 runs and he was well supported by veteran off-spinner Harbahajan Singh, who scalped to 2 wickets for 23 runs.

David Warner's 49 and Shikhar Dhawan's 48 were the significant contributions in an otherwise modest 158 for 8 on batting friendly conditions at the Wankhede Stadium.

Mumbai, Punjab and Hyderabad are all locked on 4 points each.
