MPL 2024 Playoffs: Reigning Champions Ratnagiri Jets Storm Into The Final

MPL 2024 Playoffs: The defending champions of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL) are yet again into the final of the MPL 2024 with an impressive victory. Here are the details. Read below.

MPL 2024 Playoffs: Ratnagiri Jets keep their defence alive, as the reigning MPL champions beat Eagle Nashik Titans by 6 wickets in the Qualifier 1 of the MPL 2024. Abhishek Pawar and Divyang Hinganekar were the architects of the victory, as handy knocks from them shrugged away any chance of a comeback from Eagle Nashik Titans.

Opting to bowl first, the defending champions did well to restrict Eagle Nashik Titans on 158 on a high scoring track of the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune, as Pradeep Dadhe bowled one of the most iconic spells in the history of the league.

The 29-year old recorded the figures of 4/12 in his 4 overs, which included a maiden over. The bowler was complemented by a brilliant spell from Kunal Thorat, who registered the figures of 3/27 in his 4 overs.
In reply, the Ratnagiri Jets chased down the target within 19 overs, and have progressed to the final, which is to be played on Saturday.

Ratnagiri Jets Skipper Delighted After Securing Yet Another Final Berth

Ratnagiri Jets skipper Azim Kazi is delighted with his side's emphatic victory and stated that the Jets don't care whosoever will be their opponent in the Final and that, the team will give their best shot.

"The toss was crucial. It was important to focus on the basics and we were brilliant in executing our plans tonight. All the credit should go to the bowlers. Pradeep and Kunal were brilliant for us in the middle overs. Kunal did not get much chances this season but he has done well whenever he plays. We were looking to target the powerplay," said Kazi during the post-match presentation ceremony.

"I was enjoying Divyang's innings from the other end. In the timeout, we focus on basics. We are excited to play the finals. We will treat it as a normal game. We don't care who will be our opponent in the finale. We need to play our best cricket," he added.
