With India and Sri Lanka set to co-host the T20 World Cup 2026 tournament in February–March 2026, 15 of the 20 participating teams have already confirmed their spots.

India – Qualified directly as co-hosts and as the reigning champions of the 2024 edition.

Sri Lanka – Also booked their place automatically as co-hosts.

Teams that reached the Super Eight stage in 2024 (excluding the hosts):

Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the United States, and the West Indies all advanced to the Super Eight in the previous edition, thereby earning automatic qualification for 2026.

Qualified via ICC Men’s T20I Rankings (as of June 30, 2024):

Pakistan, New Zealand, and Ireland secured their spots based on their rankings, having performed consistently in the international T20 format.

Regional Qualifiers (as of July 12, 2025):

Canada clinched the top spot in the Americas regional final held in June 2025. The Netherlands and Italy emerged from Europe’s regional qualifiers, with Italy qualifying for a T20 World Cup for the very first time in their cricketing history.

2 teams (India and Sri Lanka): Qualified as co-hosts

7 teams: From the Super Eight of the 2024 edition (excluding hosts)

3 teams: Based on ICC rankings as of June 30, 2024

ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to begin in February 2026 and will continue through March 2026. More specifically, the tournament will run from 1 February to 1 March 2026, with matches co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
