In the opening Test of the five-match series between India and England at Headingley, KL Rahul continued his consistent form. After a valuable 42-run knock in the first innings, Rahul brought up a well-compiled half-century in the second innings, reinforcing his importance in India's batting lineup.

With this knock, he entered an elite club, becoming the second Indian opener with the most 50+ scores in Test cricket across seven different countries. He now has nine 50+ scores, equaling Virender Sehwag and Murali Vijay.
The only player ahead of them is Sunil Gavaskar, who recorded 19 such scores in 57 innings.
