Jasprit Bumrah Becomes First India Pacer To Top ICC Men's Test Bowling Rankings
Jasprit Bumrah surpassed his teammate Ravichandran Ashwin to become the first Indian pacer to reach the top spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings.
Premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who played a pivotal role in India's victory over England in IND vs ENG Visakhapatnam Test, has ascended to the number one position among Test bowlers in the world. In latest ICC Test Rankings for bowlers unveiled on Wednesday (February 7), Bumrah surpassed South Africa's Kagiso Rabada and India's Ravichandran Ashwin to claim the top spot. Previously, Ashwin held number one position. Rabada maintains his hold on the second position, while Ashwin has slipped two places to secure third position in the most recent ICC Test Rankings for bowlers.
Jasprit Bumrah Creates 'World Record'
In another historic milestone, Jasprit Bumrah became first bowler in the history of cricket to attain number one ranking across all three formats (ODI, Test, T20Is) of the game. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are the only Asian players to become number 1 in all three formats.
Bumrah showcased outstanding bowling performance in first two Tests of the ongoing five-match five-match Test series between India and England. The star pacer played a key role in India's resounding victory in IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Visakhapatnam, securing six wickets in first innings and three wickets in second innings.
With a total of 15 wickets in two IND vs ENG Test matches, Bumrah is currently the highest wicket-taker in the series. His best bowling performance in the ongoing IND vs ENG Test Series is six wickets for 45 runs.

Earlier, Bumrah held the fourth position in the previous round of rankings with 825 points. However, his bowling heroics in IND vs ENG 2nd Test in Vizag propelled the 30-year-old to the No. 1 rank with 881 points, marking a personal best record for him.
