This age old  saying came true once more as Rajasthan Royals pulled off a miraculous 224-run chase against Kings Eleven Punjab in an IPL 2020 encounter played at Sharjah on Monday (September 27). Sanju Samson who once again produced a belligerent 85-run knock deserved all the credit for setting up a herculean chase but it was Rajasthan Royals unheralded all-rounder Rahul Tewatia who delivered  the game changing act with arguably the most destructive knock of his IPL career. Tewatia's 51-run knock off just 31 deliveries was an innings of two halves as he stuttered and struggled to get bat to ball and found it even difficult to give his in-form partner Sanju Samson the strike. However, once Samson departed and the required run rate climbed to around 20, Tewatia gave a glimpse of his hitting prowess as he tore into Windies seamer Sheldon Cottrell and Mohammad Shami by smoking them for sixes at will. Die hard Rajasthan Royals fans who were watching the RR vs KXIP IPL match live on their television sets initially trolled Tewatia for his lackluster start completely changed their opinion about him and lauded the spirited efforts of the southpaw, who turned around the game on its heads. Tewatia who at one stage was nine off nineteen deliveries, produced a game changing knock off 53 from 31 balls before Shami picked up his wicket but the damage was already done.
