'Thanks For Missing One Ball', Yuvraj Breathes Sigh Of Relief After Tewatia Hits Cottrell For 5 Sixes In An Over In IPL 2020

RR batsman Rahul Tewatia annihilated KXIP seamer Sheldon Cottrell by hitting him for 5 sixes in his over and changed the complexion of the game. He turnaround his sluggish start into a whirlwind innings by scoring a half ton off just 31 balls.

The record books in the IPL were re-written on Wednesday at the Sharjah Cricket Ground as Rajasthan Royals gunned down a herculean 224-run target against Kings Eleven Punjab in Game 9 of the season on Sunday. Rajasthan Royals near to impossible win was pulled off courtesy some spectacular hitting by their in-form power hitter Sanju Samson upfront and an absolute blinder by Rahul Tewatia during the dying stages of the RR innings. After Samson and Smith's fiery knocks up the order kept Rajasthan in the hunt to chase down a massive target, they lost their way a bit when Samson was dismissed for a cracking 85 off just 42 deliveries by seamer Mohammad Shami. Rahul Tewatia who was batting on the other end seemed to struggle initially and was slow off the blocks scoring just 9 runs in the first nineteen deliveries he faced. With Samson gone and the run rate zooting to almost 20 an over in the last five overs, Tewatia decided to change gears and launched a brutal onslaught on Windies seamer Sheldon Cottrell and Mohammad Shami. The hard hitting southpaw annihilated Cottrell by hitting him for 5 sixes in his over and changed the complexion of the game. He turnaround his sluggish start into a whirlwind innings by scoring a half ton off just 31 balls. Tewatia's fireworks at the back end of the innings helped Rajasthan pull off a record breaking chase and clinch a memorable 4-wicket win over Kings Eleven Punjab.
