IPL 2020: Will MI Speedster Trent Boult Play The Finals? Know What Skipper Rohit Has To Say

"I've not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don't think it's a big problem. Three-day rest and he should be back on the park," MI skipper Rohit Sharma said post his team's win over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 Qualifier 1.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) booked a place in the IPL 2020 finals for a sixth time with a clinical 57-run win over Delhi Capitals (DC) in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2020 played in Dubai. New Zealand swing bowler Trent Boult had a major role to play in Mumbai Indians' dominant win over Delhi Capitals in the play-offs. After setting Iyer and Co a 201-run target, Boult rocked the MI top order by dismissing openers Prithvi Shaw and frontline batsman Ajinkya Rahane in the very first over of the match itself. Boult and his seam partner Bumrah left Delhi Capitals reeling at 0-3 and set the tone for a massive win in the play-offs. After his 2-over opening burst to wreck DC's top order, Boult did not return to bowl again in the match as he suffered a groin injury, which forced him off the field. Boult would have usually come back to bowl in tandem with Bumrah at the fag end of the innings but he had to leave the ground in the 14th over because of the injury. Mumbai Indians did well to not let Boult's absence become a stumbling block in their win as rest of the bowling unit raised their game in the middle overs to help MI clinch a massive victory over DC. After the match got over, MI skipper Rohit Sharma gave an update on Boult's injury to bring about a sense of relief to million of die hard MI fans. Rohit said that although he has not seen Boult himself once he left the field, the injury to the Kiwi paceman did not look serious enough to impact the speedster's appearance in the final. "I've not seen him (Boult). But he seems okay. I don't think it's a big problem. Three-day rest and he should be back on the park," said Rohit. Rohit further went on to hail the performance of Bumrah and Boult who have together picked 49 wickets in the 13th edition of the T20 league. "Bumrah and Boult have been in solid form. They play for different teams so they have different plans. We as a team have different plans and it's great to see them execute those," he said.
