IPL 2020: CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan Rules Out Suresh Raina’s Return For Season 13 In UAE

CSK CEO told news agency ANI that Suresh Raina had made himself unavailable for the tournament and hence the franchise could not do anything about it. He added that the CSK fraternity respected the cricketer's decision and his personal space.

Amidst strong demand by Chennai Super Kings fans for Suresh Raina to make a comeback into the team post their back to back losses against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan put rest to all speculations over the cricketer's comeback and made it quite clear that the experienced campaigner won't make a return into the side for the thirteenth season of the league. CSK CEO told news agency ANI that Suresh Raina had  made himself unavailable for the tournament and hence the franchise could not do anything about it. He added that the CSK fraternity respected the cricketer's decision and his personal space. “We cannot look at Raina because he made himself unavailable, and we respect his decision and his space. We are not thinking about it,” Viswanathan told ANI. Vishwanathan exuded confidence that CSK will bounce back strongly in the tournament after the initial jitters and the fans will have smiles back on their faces. “I can assure the fans that we will bounce back strongly. It’s a game and you have your good and bad days. But the boys know what they need to do and the smiles will be back.” CSK are playing Season 13 of the Indian Premier League without the services of Suresh Raina as the T20 stalwart and one of franchise's greatest cricketers pulled out of the tournament in the UAE citing personal reasons.
