Samson's second IPL century powers Rajasthan to 198/2 against Sunrisers

It may appear that SRH have a good chance of winning the match because at Hyderabad's pitch, teams generally like to chase as 33 out of 56 games have been won while batting second or chasing. However, RR have never lost a game in which they've scored over 195 runs in the first innings

Opting to bat, Rajasthan Royals made 198 for two against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Indian Premier League match at Hyderabad on Friday. The highlight of the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings was Sanju Samson scoring a well-deserved hundred of just 54-balls. Samson carried his squad all the way as he reached his 100 with a blistering boundary. After this, he has now become the first player to score two centuries in IPL before turning 25 years of age. The crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium was on their feet to applaud the great innings as Samson raised his bat and fist pumps both his hands. While Samson got to his 11th IPL fifty, skipper Rahane attained his 27th. For Sunrisers, star spinner Rashid Khan got the big breakthrough for his team. Khan bowled a stunner to get rid of dangerous looking Jos Buttler in just his second delivery. Buttler in an attempt to sweep missed a quick leg-break from Khan as the ball touched his glove before hitting onto the leg stumps. Also, Rashid Khan has now got Buttler 3 times in 8 balls. After Buttler’s early dismissal, both Rahane and Samson were not only proactive with the shots they played but also found their groove as they ensured to keep the strike-rate up. Samson and Ben Stokes brutally smashed the RR’s bowling in the death overs to score a mammoth total of 198 runs. RR’s leading seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar was smashed for 20 runs in his final over.
