IPL 2019 MI vs DC: Mumbai Indians opt to field against pace heavy Delhi Capitals

IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians opted to field first against Delhi Capitals. Jammu & Kashmir's 17-year-old right-arm fast bowler Rasikh Salam Dar makes his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians' captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to field first against Delhi Capitals in the third match of IPL 2019 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Both teams threw in quite a few surprises in the playing XIs. Starting with the hosts, they decided not to include wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan, who had played a key role in the previous season. South Africa’s Quinton de Kock will keep wickets. 17-year-old Jammu & Kashmir right-arm fast bowler Rasikh Salam Dar was handed his IPL debut to everyone’s surprise.

Yuvraj Singh was included in the MI playing XI while there was no place for West Indian dasher Evin Lewis.

Delhi, on the other hand, surprisingly did not include Nepal leggie Sandeep Lamicchane, who had made a name in T20 leagues across the globe. The Capitals, instead, chose to pick three out and out fast bowlers in Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma. There was no place of New Zealand T20 specialist Colin Munro either.

Mumbai Indians (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma(c), Quinton de Kock(w), Suryakumar Yadav, Krunal Pandya, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Ben Cutting, Mitchell McClenaghan, Rasikh Salam, Jasprit Bumrah
