IND vs WI 1st Test, Day 2 Highlights: In the whole day 2 of India vs West Indies 1st Test, India batted cautiously but still well enough to score 232 runs in 90 overs.

India vs West Indies 1st Test, Day 2 Highlights: Valiant tons from debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal (143 batting, 350 balls) and skipper Rohit Sharma (103 off 221 balls), their record 229-run opening stand helped India take form control of the game, finishing the second day on 312 for two, lead Windies by 162 runs. In the whole day 2 of India vs West Indies 1st Test, India batted cautiously but still well enough to score 232 runs in 90 overs. Jaiswal, who batted the entire second day, was supported well by icon Virat Kohli (36 batting, 96 balls) as the duo stitched a solid 72-run stand for the third wicket.

By the end of Day 2's play, team India have a lead of 162 runs and are expected to make solid gains on Day 3 before spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin spin a web to rattle an opposition that doesn't have enough technical wherewithal to counter them for two days.

In the first session of the second day, both opening batters Yashasvi and Rohit started the innings carefully to take team's total beyond 100 runs. Jaiswal completed his first half-century in Test cricket and captain Rohit notched up his 15th half-century in Tests. At lunch, team India's score was 146 runs without loss of any wicket. India scored a total of 66 runs in the first session.

After lunch, Rohit and Yashasvi accelerated their innings. Jaiswal scripted history by scoring a century in his debut test, bringing up a 200-run partnership for the first wicket with Rohit, who wasted no time to attain his 10th Test century. However, soon after this he returned to the pavilion after scoring 103 runs.

India lost their first wicket on the score of 229. Number 3 batter Shubman Gill returned to the pavilion after scoring only 6. At the end of the second session, India were 245 runs at loss of 2 wickets.

In the final session of the day, Yashasvi Jaiswal (143) and Virat Kohli (36) shared a 72-run partnership for the third wicket. At the end of the day's play, India reached 312 runs, taking a lead of 162 runs.
