IND vs NEP, Asia Cup 2023: While rain played a spoilsport in the much-anticipated India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023 Group-stage contest, all eyes lay firmly on India's next match against Nepal which is also scheduled at the same venue on Monday (September 4). However if weather forecast of Kandy is to be believed, rain can come back to play a spoilsport in the India vs Nepal Group A encounter.

It is being reported that the rain hasn't stopped yet since the India vs Pakistan match on September 2 and it is likely to continue to downpour on Monday (September 4). As per a report carried by Google Weather, there are 80 per cent chance of rainfall with thunderstorms in Pallekele, Kandy on match day. If this is anything to go by, India and Nepal could also be forced to share points much like India and Pakistan did. The sharing of points meant, Pakistan have secured a place for themselves in the Super Fours with 3 points from 2 matches. India are at the second place with 1 point from 1 match while Nepal have 0 points to show to their credit after their defeat to Pakistan in the tournament opener in Multan on August 30.

It is pertinent to note that Nepal are making this first appearanace in Asia Cup this year and are currently ranked number 15 in the world. India, meanwhile, are number 3 in the world. Having said that Nepal did have their moments in their match against Babar Azam & Co. who are currently the number 1 side in this format. Pakistan were 25/2 and 124/4 against Nepal but found a way to score a formidable 342/6. A similar against India will help them gain massive confidence moving forward in their cricketing journey.
