India Vs England: Suryakumar Ready To Debut Due To The Absence Of Shreyas Iyer In 2nd IND Vs ENG ODI
Suryakumar Yadav might get a chance in India’s XI as Shreyas Iyer injured his left arm during the 1st ODI. He is set to miss the remaining series and also the IPL.
India vs England 2nd ODI: Delhi Capitals’ Captain, Shreyas Iyer is said to miss the entire IPL 2021 season due to injury to his left arm as per some reports. BCCI confirmed that he will miss the remaining India vs England ODI series due to the injury he attained while diving in the 1st ODI. Now Suryakumar Yadav seems to be the first choice to replace Iyer in the squad based on his recent performances in the T20I series.
After KL Rahul’s dismal batting performance in the T20I series, he would be delighted to be back in form in the ODI series. Apart from him, the debutants Krunal Pandya and Prasidh Krishna’s performance was also satisfactory. Kohli would be happy with the options he has. Even after Iyer missing out, the middle order would be taken care of. Batsmen like Suryakumar Yadav can fill in, in the absence of Iyer. Surya’s form in the T20I series won’t be forgotten by the team management and thus he will the first choice to replace the injured Iyer.
Shreyas Iyer posted about his injury on Twitter and wrote that he will be ‘back soon’.
Although some reports suggested that he could be out for a period of four months which means he might miss out on entire IPL 2021. Delhi Capitals’ owner Parth Jindal expressed his concerns after Iyer’s injury.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what the team combination would be in the India vs England 2nd ODI.
