IND vs AUS 1st ODI Predicted Playing XI: Just two weeks ahead of ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023 tournament, team India will square off against Australia in first ODI of the three-match IND vs AUS ODI series. The tournament opener will be played on 22nd September in Mohali. India vs Australia ODI series 2023 will be the final chance for both the teams to try out all combinations, finalize their preparations for the mega ICC event.

Shreyas Iyer, important for team India's ODI World Cup plans, played just one game in recently concluded Asia Cup 2023 tournament. It is highly likely that the star middle-order batter might get game time today against the Aussies to prove his fitness.

Current world's no.1 ODI bowler Mohammed Siraj has been rested too for first two ODIs. Prasidh Krishna or Mohammad Shami are likely to fill in for him. India's squad selected for ODI series is a mixture of ODI World Cup and Asian Games squads. Rituraj Gaikwad, who will be leading team India in the Asian Games 2023, hasn't played much competitive cricket. Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, part of the ODI World Cup team, are likely to play as openers against Australia.

If preparations for the upcoming Asian Games are given priority, then Tilak Verma should get a chance to bat at number four. But Shreyas Iyer, who has returned from injury and is part of the ODI World Cup 2023 team, has not got many opportunities yet.
