India's probable T20 World Cup squad: The much-awaited T20 World Cup 2024 is scheduled to kickstart from June 1st onwards, following the conclusion of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Team India are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan. India's squad announcement for T20 World Cup 2024 is expected by the last week of April, PTI reported. While several players' positions in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad are secure, the IPL performances could sway the inclusion of additional players.

It is highly likely that the selectors are diligently monitoring Indian Premier League (IPL) matches as they scout talent for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA.

While several players such as Yuzvendra Chahal, Ravi Bishnoi, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson are under scrutiny for potential inclusion, some prominent names such as Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja have guaranteed spots in India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad, irrespective of their performances in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season.

Earlier, there was speculation that Rohit Sharma might consider stepping down from the Indian T20 captaincy, with Hardik Pandya being suggested as a potential successor for the role, especially for the T20 World Cup 2024. 

However, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah's recent confirmation put an end to such speculations, asserting that seasoned opener Rohit Sharma will continue to lead the Indian team in the T20 format, including the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA.

KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant have emerged as key contenders for the wicketkeeper slot in India's probable T20 World Cup 2024 squad. Pant is returning from injury after over a year. His performance in IPL 2024 will play a significant role in his selection. Meanwhile, questions have been raised about KL Rahul's fitness after he relinquished Punjab Kings captaincy.

Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson, also wicket-keeper batters like Pant and Rahul, are also vying for selection for T20 WC 2024. Their performances in the IPL will be closely monitored as they seek to strengthen their claims for a spot in India's World Cup squad.
