IND vs WI, 1st ODI: Windies Opt To Bowl; Shivam Dube Makes Debut

West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and invited India to bat first on a dry strip at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Virat Kohli-led India will begin their ODI series campaign against Windies by locking horns against the Maroon Brigade in the series opener at Chennai in sometime from now. The 'Men in Blue' will look to continue their winning streak against Windies after beating them 2-1 in the recently concluded T20I series. India will also ride high on confidence going in the series as they beat the Windies in their backyard 2-0 when the two sides squared off in a bilateral ODI series in the Caribbean. Meanwhile Afghanistan would also come into the series on a high after clean sweeping Afghanistan (3-0) in the bilateral series played in Lucknow. With the last ODI assignment for the year, both the teams would look for a series win to end the year on a high. Kieron Pollard: We will field first. This pitch is bit of an unknown so we will see how it behaves. We are looking forward to this challenge. We have done a lot of talking how we want to play international cricket. We want to be competitive.
