Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma delivered impressive performances in T20Is vs Zimbabwe, with Abhishek notably scoring a brilliant century in the 2nd T20I. Yuzvendra Chahal, who was part of the T20 World Cup squad, was also dropped for the Sri Lanka tour.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson was named only in the T20 squad for Sri Lanka series and not included in the ODIs, as Rishabh Pant has been recalled after his comeback to the Indian team in the T20 World Cup, last month.
Team India will play a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is against Sri Lanka. IND vs SL T20I series will be played first, followed by the ODI series. Senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will participate in the ODI series, despite earlier speculations that they might be given a rest.
