IND vs SA, 3rd Test, Day 3: India Enforce Follow-On As Proteas Get Bowled Out For 162 At Ranchi
With a lead of 335 runs, skipper virat Kohli enforced the follow-on and will look to wrap the final Test with a win by an innings
A phenomenal bowling performance by the Indian bowlers bundled up the depleted South African side for just 162-runs in the second session of Day 3 of the third and final Test at Ranchi. With a lead of 335 runs, skipper Virat Kohli enforced the follow-on and will look to wrap the final Test with a win by an innings.
Without even Ashwin taking a wicket, India bowlers got the opposition bowled out for their lowest total in the series.
The second session started very badly for South Africa as paceman Mohammed Shami struck in the first over after Lunch to dismiss Pedit for 4.
The Indian bowlers looked more than charged up to wrap up the Proteas tail and enforce the follow-on as soon as possible.
Yadav, who has been superb with both the bat and ball in the final test, came up with a brilliant fielding effort as he got Rabada (0) run-out with bullet of a throw from mid-off.
Lower order batsmen Nortje and Linde played cautiously and continued to gather runs at a slow rate to attain a crucial contribution for South Africa. Umesh Yadav struck again, this time with the ball, to end Linde's (37 off 81 balls) resistance as he got him caught out at second slip. Jharkahnd's very own son Shahbaz Nadeem ended the visitors innings by getting Nortje LBW out for 4 off 55 balls. Earlier, Ravindra Jadeja and Shabaz Nadeem restricted South Africa to 129/6 at Lunch on day 3 of the third Test at Ranchi. Proteas lost four wickets in the first session and trail team India by 368 runs. India declared Day 2 on 497/9 as speedsters Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav reduced the South African side to 9/2, dismissing both their openers before bad light stopped play. All out!
