IND Vs NZ, Day 4 Highlights: India Win Wankhede Test By 372 Runs & Seal Series, Spinners Shine On Day 4

Background

IND Vs NZ: The second Test is heading towards a direction that is looking that it would guarantee a result. NZ was 140/5 at Stumps on Day 3 of the Mumbai Test. With NZ needing 400 more runs to win, it is going to be an uphill task for the Kiwi batsmen.

Indian spinners would love to end the job soon and as Henry Nicholls and Rachin Ravindra is the last batting pair in the NZ side. There is only Jamieson, Southee, Somerville, and Patel remaining to bat after this. This means that the tail-end of the New Zealand batting remains and the dominant Indian spinners would look to wrap u[p proceedings quickly.

Ravichandran Ashwin has picked up three wickets in the innings so far while Axar Patel has one wicket against his name. Tom Blundell was run out. It has been a  dominant performance by India with both bat and ball, the first innings saw a magical 100 by Mayank Agarwal, followed by a fiery opening spell by Mohammed Siraj and 4 wickets from Ashwin to seal the NZ first innings for just 62 runs.

This Test match win would mean that India also win the series against New Zealand and further improve their position in the World Test Championship (WTC) table.

Virat Kohli on the eve of the match said that he enjoyed playing at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The Indian captain has a hundred against his name at the Wankhede which he scored while playing an ODI in 2017.
