'Rishabh Pant's Form Is A Matter Of Concern For India' Says This Former Cricketer Turned Commentator

IND Vs ENG: Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra has expressed concern over Rishabh Pant's performance. He said that Rishabh Pant's form is a matter of concern for Team India.

Former Indian cricketer, Akash Chopra, has expressed concern over Rishabh Pant's recent performances. He said that Rishabh Pant's form is a matter of concern for Team India. Pant has not been able to do much in the three matches he has played so far, and has been unable to prove his mettle as a batsman.

Rishabh Pant scored just 87 runs in past three tests at an average of just 17.4. Pant scored just 1 run in the second innings and was dismissed in India's defeat in the third Test at Headingley, when it was extremely necessary for a batsman to stay at the crease.

Akash Chopra said this on YouTube channel:

Akash Chopra said this on his YouTube channel, saying, "I am very worried about Rishabh Pant's performance. The team is playing with five bowlers because the team knows that they have a strong player like Rishabh Pant as a batsman and that is why Wriddhiman Saha has been kept out of the team. But if Pant doesn't score for the team, then it's a matter of concern."

"The way he is playing is certainly an issue. The team is stuck, yet Pant is playing like a newcomer, which is something to be worried about. However, Indian captain Virat Kohli said he was not worried about Rishabh Pant's form. He said that everyone talked about Pujara when he wasn't performing well. But after the Headingley innings, everyone calmed down. We will also give Pant ample chance to play and understand the game," he added.
