The second of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh is all set to get underway at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Thursday. While the visitors had lost the ODI series 1-2, they started off the Test series on a winning note, registering a win over 188 runs in the series opener.
While it was initially expected that captain Rohit Sharma will join Team India squad for the second Test match but it was later confirmed that both Rohit and fast bowler Navdeep Saini won't be available for selection for this fixture. In Rohit's absence, KL Rahul led India in the first game and the Men in Blue were handed a bit of a scare when even Rahul was hit on the hand when batting in the nets on the eve of the second Test.
Thankfully though Rahul's injury wasn't a serious one and he walked out for the toss with Shakib Al Hasan earlier this morning. The Indian team has made a huge decision in terms of their Playing XI, giving Jaydev Unadkat a game in place of Kuldeep Yadav.
"We would have done the same. But it's a confusing wicket. There is a lot of grass. I'm not too disappointed because I have no idea what to expect from this pitch. I've taken advice from the experts: the coaching staff and seniors, to learn more about the pitch. We have confidence from the win in our first Test, and we need to get our mind in here. It might be damp in the first session, getting early wickets would be good. We have Jaydev Unadkat come in for Kuldeep Yadav. Hard decision on Kuldeep but we know Ashwin and Axar can find spin, and bring Jaydev in to cover all bases," Rahul said at the toss.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh too have made a couple of changes to their 11 with Yasir and Ebadot making way for Mominul and Taskin.
