IND vs BAN, 2nd T20I: Rohit's Fiery Knock Helps India Clinch Thumping 8-wicket Win, Level Series 1-1

Rohit Sharma led from the front and played a fiery 85-run knock to help India chase down Bangladesh's 154-run target and win the 2nd T20 international at Rajkot

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma scored a whirlwind 85-run knock to power the 'Men in Blue' to a clinical 8-wicket win over Bangladesh in the second T20 international played at the Saurashtra Cricket Ground at Rajkot on Thursday  and level the 3-match series 1-1. The swashbuckling opener who became the second male cricketer to feature in 100 T20 internationals looked in ominous form from the start of the Indian innings and grew in confidence tonking the Bangladeshi bowlers to all corners of the park. The Indian opening pair fired on all cylinders and brought up the 50 inside the powerplays. Shikhar Dhawan took time to settle down but then stepped up the ante with a couple of boundaries. The Indian pair were going hammer and tongs bringing up the 100 in just the 10 over. Rohit brought up his fifty in just 23 balls and set up himself for a big knock. He led an onslaught with the willow  by displaying an exhibition of his destructive stroke-play.Against the run of play, spinner Aminul Islam dismissed Shikhar Dhawan for 31. Just as Rohit was looking to get to his 5th T2OI ton, spinner Aminul Islam sent him back to the pavilion but not before him entertaining the Rajkot crowd with an absolute belter. Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul ensured India did not lose any more wickets and took the team across the line. Earlier in the match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and put Bangladesh to bat first at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium. The visitors piled up a 153-run total came on the back of a solid opening stand by openers Liton Das and Mohammad Naim and a quickfire 30-run knock by their skipper Mahmudullah towards the end of the innings. Yuzvendra Chahal was the pick of the Indian bowlers, returning with figures of 2-28. Washington Sundar and  Deepak Chahar bowled economical spells, taking one wicket each. The third and final encounter of the 3-match series will be played at on November 10 Brief scores: India - 154/2 in (15.4 overs Rohit Sharma 85, Aminul Islam 2-29 ) Bangladesh 153/6 in 20 overs (Mohammad Naim 36, Yuzvendra Chahal 2/28)
