'Orange Cap' winner Gill (890 runs in 17 IPL games) was the highest run-scorer in the tournament. Before IPL began, Gill became the youngest player to hit a double ton in history of One-Day-Internationals. Most likely, he will be part of India XI in the upcoming 2023 ODI World Cup in India. Fans expect Shubman to continue his form in the ongoing India vs Australia World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 Final in England. In a video uploaded by ICC, Shubman talked about his father's love for cricket. For this reason, at the age of just three, he motivated him to start practicing with the bat. Shubman started practicing with a plastic ball and with time became a better player. Shubman's counterpart Rohit Sharma said that Gill has full potential to become a big player and has everything a player needs at the international level. Rohit even called 23-year-old Gill 'the next big thing in Indian cricket'.
