IND vs AUS: Two Major Records Travis Head Broke With His Century Against India In Adelaide

A major highlight for Australia on day 2 of IND vs AUS Adelaide Test came from Travis Head, who scored his eighth Test century. In the process, he broke two major records.

In the ongoing second Test between India and Australia in Adelaide, Australia is firmly in control, with India facing an uphill battle.

India stumbled to 128 for 5 in their second innings at stumps on day two, still trailing Australia by 29 runs. Starc, Boland, and Cummins exploited the conditions brilliantly, tearing through India's top order and leaving Australia in driver's seat.

A major highlight for Australia on Day 2 of IND vs AUS Adelaide Test came from Travis Head, who scored his eighth Test century. In the process, Head broke two major records.

Head's century, which came off just 111 balls, made him the fastest to score a century in a day-night (pink-ball) Test, surpassing his own record of 112 balls, set against England in 2022.

Travis Head's remarkable 140 runs from 141 balls included 17 fours and four sixes, marking his third century in day-night Test matches. He now stands second in this category, behind Marnus Labuschagne, who has four day-night Test centuries.

Pacers put Australia on top at end of day 2's play in Adelaide

At the end of day two's play, India were 128 for 5 in their second innings, still trailing Australia by 29 runs. Rishabh Pant, not out on 28, and captain Nitish Kumar Reddy, unbeaten on 15, were at the crease when stumps were called. Australia's Pat Cummins and Steve Boland each claimed 2 wickets, with Mitchell Starc picking up 1.

Earlier, India were bowled out for just 180 runs in their first innings, while Australia scored 337 in their first innings, gaining a 157-run lead.
