They got there in style with a 24-run win over Australia in their last Super 8 clash against Australia putting the Kangarooos on the verge of an elimination. India captain Rohit Sharma led from the front and played a sublime innings, taking the attack to the opposition from over number 1.

With the help of Rohit's innings, India did post 205/5 but they were made to work hard in the run-chase with Travis Head once again taking a liking to Indian bowlers. Head scored 76 off 43 deliveries but India held on to their nerves to take wickets and seal a win. Kuldeep Yadav was India's stand out performer with the ball in hand, picking 2 wickets for 24 runs off his 4 overs.

Arshdeep Singh also scalped 3 wickets but went for 37 runs off his 4 overs with Axar Patel bowling two crucial overs in the second half of the innings to hand India a win and set up their semifinal with England on June 27 with England.
Still Not Over For Australia In T20 World Cup 2024
Meanwhile, Australia will have to wait for the result of the Afghanistan vs Bangladesh game. If Bangladesh win but not by a huge margin, Aussies will get to play the semis against South Africa. If Afganistan win, they will walk into the semis and if it's a Bangladesh win by a handsome margin, even the Bangla Tigers fancy a chance in the knockout stage of the competition.
