IND vs AFG: Rohit-Rahul Make Record Partnership For India In T20I Cricket, Two Other Records Broken

INDvsAFG: In the crucial World Cup Group 2 match, India registered a huge win over Afghanistan thanks to Rohit-Rahul's century partnership.

INDvsAFG: Team India have kept their hopes afloat of reaching the semi-finals by defeating Afghanistan by a huge margin in the World Cup. The 66-run win against Afghanistan has been an encouraging victory for Team India. More importantly, the Indian batsmen, who failed in the opening two matches, put up the highest T20 World Cup 2021 score in the match.

Team India openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul laid the foundation for the victory. The duo shared a 144-run stand in 88 balls. Rohit Sharma was dismissed for 74 off 47 balls, hitting 8 fours and 3 sixes. While on the other side KL Rahul scored 69 off 48 balls. This partnership created two records.

Record of century partnership: Pakistani openers Babar Azam and Rizwan hold the record for most century partnerships (5) in T20 Internationals. It is followed by the Rohit-Rahul duo. The two now have 4-century partnerships to their name. Earlier, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have also shared four century partnerships. 

Record for the biggest partnership in T20: Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul shared a 140-run partnership, India's biggest ever T20 partnership. Earlier, the record was held by Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, who scored 136 runs against England. 

Rohit-Rahul duo scored more than 1200 runs in 23 innings: Rohit-Rahul's partnership in the match against Afghanistan has put them at 5th position in the list of partners who have added the most runs in T20 International cricket. They were ranked 12th before this match. The Rohit-Rahul duo have scored 1212 runs in 23 innings so far. The highest runs made are named after the Rohit and Shikhar duo. The two have added 1743 runs in 52 innings.
