Vaibhav Suryavanshi Fails To Impress In Tests Despite ODI Heroics

Vaibhav Suryavanshi couldn’t leave much impact with the bat in the first innings. Let us tell you how many runs he managed to score.

Along with the senior Indian team, the Under-19 team is also currently touring England. Among the young talents, the name of 14-year-old ‘wonder kid’ Vaibhav Suryavanshi is being discussed everywhere.

Having traveled with the Under-19 squad, Vaibhav made headlines for his brilliant performance in the ODI series, where he punished the English bowlers with his explosive batting.

After his ODI heroics, all eyes turned toward the Test series. However, in the first Youth Test match being played at Buckingham, Vaibhav Suryavanshi couldn’t leave much impact with the bat in the first innings. Let us tell you how many runs he managed to score.

Started Aggressively but Dismissed Early

Vaibhav Suryavanshi began the Test match in his signature aggressive style, attacking from the very first ball.

He opened his account by smashing a boundary on the first delivery of the match. He continued his attacking play, hitting two more fours, but was soon dismissed by Alex Green.

He scored 14 runs off 13 balls, including three well-timed boundaries. Though he failed to convert his start into a big score, he will have another opportunity to make a mark in the second innings.

Made History in ODI Series

Earlier in the tour, Vaibhav had stunned the cricketing world with his explosive batting in the Youth ODI series.

He scripted history by smashing the fastest century in Under-19 cricket, reaching the milestone in just 52 balls against England. This extraordinary knock further strengthened his reputation as a big-match player.

Before arriving in England, Vaibhav also lit up the IPL with a jaw-dropping 35-ball century, making him the fastest Indian to score a century in the history of the tournament. These performances have made him one of the most exciting prospects in Indian cricket.
