ICC Women's T20 World Cup: How Indian Women Can Still Secure Their Semifinal Spot

The English side is at the top of group two as they have won all their three matches and secured six points. India is at the second spot with two wins in three matches and a total of four points.

Despite losing the match to England, Indian women are still in contention for the semifinal spot in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. But then the road ahead is tough for the  Harmanpreet Kaur-led side. If India had won against England, they could have easily put one foot in the semifinals.

As per form and rankings, India can secure their semifinal spot, but it is not confirmed yet. The Indian women failed to chase the total of 152 and lost the match against England.

The English side is at the top of group two as they have won all their three matches and secured six points. India is at the second spot with two wins in three matches and a total of four points. Pakistan stands at the third position, having sealed one out of their two games. Windies is in the fourth position and Ireland is at the bottom, having lost all their three matches so far.

Since West Indies have outplayed Pakistan, India’s chances have increased to secure the semifinal spot. It has stopped Pakistan at just two points for a while before they face England in their final game. India will now have to win the game against Ireland in their final group-stage match to keep their hopes alive on Monday.
