ICC T20 World Cup: Steven Smith, Michael Vaughan Consider India As 'Hot Favourites' To Win T20 WC

India defeated England and Australia in the recently concluded Warm-up games. This has led many experts into believing that India really has a good chance at winning the World Cup this year.

ICC T20 World Cup: If India's sublime form from warmup matches is to be continued, then Virat Kohli's men stand a great chance to win the upcoming T20 World Cup. This is being reiterated by two important voices in world cricket - Michael Vaughan of England and Steven Smith of Australia.

India defeated England and Australia in the recently concluded Warm-up games. This has led many experts into believing that India really has a good chance at winning the World Cup this year.

"They're (India are) a terrific side, they've got all bases covered and some serious match-winners," Steve Smith told Reuters in UAE after the match.

"They've all been playing in these conditions the last couple of months with the Indian Premier League (IPL). So they'll be used to that," he added.

For India, KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav have shown promise with the bat in a couple of matches that were played in UAE. Meanwhile, Michael Vaughan, who usually is known for making statements against the Indian team has called India the 'Hot Favourites' to win this year's WC.

India will face Pakistan in their first match of the World Cup. India and Pakistan have come face to face on five occasions in T20 WC matches and the Indian team has managed to win all five of these matches.
