ICC T20 World Cup: 'Its Not Like India Will Win WC Everytime', Says Sourav Ganguly | EXCLUSIVE

ICC T20 World Cup: "Its not like that India will win every time. It is only natural that there will be gaps between World Cup wins," said Ganguly on ABP News.

ICC T20 World Cup: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President, Sourav Ganguly has said that it is not possible that 'India will win the World Cup everytime', while talking to ABP News in an exclusive interview. Ganguly was responding to a question that pointed at India's inability to win a major international trophy since the 2014 Champions Trophy final.

"Its not like that India will win every time. It is only natural that there will be gaps between World Cup wins," said Ganguly.

"India won the World Cup in 2011, as well as in 2007. We played the final in 2003 and 2014. Even in 2017, we played Champions Trophy final but lost to Pakistan. Indian cricket is so strong that we will keep getting chances to play the final. Even this year we are hopeful. India is a big contender, but fingers crossed," he added.

The BCCI President also said that the players should express themselves as that's the way to play in T20 cricket. "There's no pressure on players. They should express themselves openly," he said.

'Its A Mental Battle' - Ganguly on IND vs PAK

Commenting on India’s chances, during an interview for ABP News’ ‘Vishwa Vijeta Dubai Conclave 2021’, one of India’s iconic captains and the current BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly said, “Yes there is a huge possibility of 13-0 happening and India extending their unbeaten streak against Pakistan in this World Cup. All the players in this Indian team are genuine match-winners and fingers crossed, this team can finally end our 10 years wait of winning a world cup.”

"Pakistan is also a good team. If one or two players click, then anything can happen. To win the mental battle is important. I feel it will be a great match!"
