Hong Kong completes 3rd fastest chase in T20I history: In an ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier match held on August 31, 2024, at Beaumas Cricket Oval, Hong Kong achieved the third-fastest chase in T20I history by reaching their target in just 10 balls against Mongolia.

The Mongolian team, having lost the toss and put into bat at Byumas Cricket Oval, collapsed for just 17 runs in 14.2 overs. None of their batters reached double figures, with Mohan Vivekanandan, batting at fourth position, being the top scorer with 5 runs off 18 balls at a strike rate of 27.78.

Apart from Vivekanandan, who scored 5 runs, Gandemberel Ganbold, Davasuren Jamyansuren, and Lavsanzundui Erdenebulgan each contributed 2 runs. Temuulen Amarend, Turbold Batjargal, and Enkhbat Batkhuyag added 1 run each, and Mongolia received 3 extra runs to push their total to 17.

Ayush Shukla emerged as the star performer for Hong Kong, bowling 4 overs and keeping them all as maidens. During his spell, he also claimed 1 wicket, dismissing the opposition's wicketkeeper-opener, Bat Yaalt Namsrai, for a duck.

Zeeshan Ali opened the innings with a quick, unbeaten 15 runs off 6 balls, including 3 fours. Jamie Atkinson added 2 runs from 3 balls, while Nizakat Khan remained unbeaten with 1 run from 1 ball.

The only bowler for Mongolia who managed to pick a wicket was Odd Lutbayar, who bowled 0.4 overs and took 1 wicket while conceding 5 runs. He dismissed Jamie Atkinson LBW to account for Mongolia's sole breakthrough in the match.
