'He Helped Me': Ishan Kishan Credits Rishabh Pant After Quickfire Half-Century In IND vs WI 2nd Test- WATCH

IND vs WI: Ishan Kishan credited Rishabh Pant after his quickfire innings and revealed how the Delhi Capitals star helped him with his bat position.

Even as the second Test match between India and West Indies seemed to be headed towards a draw at the Queen's Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad, the Indian team are pushing for a win. Against the run of play, India leaped towards a win and a 2-0 result on Sunday after they took the remaining West Indies wickets of their first innings in 7.4 overs. Mohammed Siraj ended up as the team's most effective bowler, finishing with figures of 5 for 60.

However, the job had only been half-done if the team wanted to go for a win and they needed to score some runs at a brisk pace in their second innings before they could declare. Doing just that for Team India was Ishan Kishan who got to his maiden half-century in Test match cricket. Promoted at number 4 to play the aggressor's role, the southpaw scored 52 off 34 balls with the help of 4 fours and 2 sixes.

Post his innings, Kishan credited Rishabh Pant for helping him with his bat position. "I was at NCA before coming here. I was practicing there and Rishabh (Pant) was also there for his rehab. He just got a few points for me. He asked me, you know, the bat postion and everthing," he said after the day's play.

" So he just helped me with my bat position and everything. So, otherwise, I Think I also wanted someone to tell me a few things about my batting and it was a great time for him to come and chat with me. Really thankful for that," he added.

The BCCI also shared the video of Kishan's remark tagging both Kishan and Pant.

Meanwhile, Pant continues to recover from the injuries he sustained in a car accident in December last year. While he has already missed a few tournaments this year, Ishant Sharma in a recent statement reckoned that he could probably miss even the next year's IPL.
