'He Has Mastered The Art Of Finishing': Former India Player Lauds Rinku Singh For His Heroics In AUS T20I
The Uttar Pradesh-based batter remained unbeaten on 22 runs off 14 balls with the help of four fours as India chased down a target of 209 with one ball left in their innings.
Former cricketer Abhishek Nayar praised Rinku Singh after seeing his art of finishing in the T20I game against Australia on Thursday in Visakhapatnam and as a result, India won the game by two wickets. The Uttar Pradesh-based batter remained unbeaten on 22 runs off 14 balls with the help of four fours as India chased down a target of 209 with one ball left in their innings.
“It takes a lot of character. We speak about someone, who has done it in the IPL and domestic cricket. Just to see Rinku hold his nerve and to have the composure shows that he has grown leaps and bounds,” Nayar was quoted as saying on Jio Cinemas.
“It’s the third time he has done this for India, the third time India needed him to do something special and he turned up. He hasn’t played international cricket for 5-7 years, but has the maturity and skill of someone who has played that long,” he stated.
Nayar even went on to say that the Indian team have got a new finisher in Rinku after the likes of MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya.
A nail-biting finish but plenty of pleasant faces in and out of the dressing room in Vizag 😃👌

“It tells you that he has mastered the art of finishing an innings. It’s not easy and it’s been a while that Hardik and MS Dhoni did that for us, but post that, there’s no one, who has played the finisher’s role so well. It’s not just the runs he gets, but the way he gets them. There is a certain calm and composure about the way he’s playing his cricket,” Nayar added.
On the back of this win, India took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series and will now take part in the second match on Sunday, November 26 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.
