Hamilton Masakadza has been named as the captain of the Zimbabwe national side across all the three formats for the 2019-20 season. The Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) confirmed the development on Tuesday, appointing wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Moore as Masakadaza’s deputy.
Masakadza has been serving as Zimbabwe’s interim captain since Graeme Cremer’s removal from the post, following their World Cup qualifier campaign at home where they failed to make it into the mega ICC event. He will now lead the side for the next season as well.

While Masakadza had already lead Zimbabwe in three Tests, 20 ODIs and 11 T20Is, Peter Moor has never led at the international level. However, he has a decent experience at leading sides in the Zimbabwe domestic circuit. He had captained his team in ten first-class matches, 11 List A matches, and 3 Twenty20 matches over the years.
