The toss and 2nd Test got delayed due to wet weather conditions. Bless the ground staff, they worked efficiently to get the field dried off quickly. West Indies captain Jason Holder on Thursday won the toss and elected to bowl against England in the second Test.
For England, Rory Burns and Sibley came out in the middle to start the proceedings. Windies speedster Kemar Roach opened the attack. In first 10-12 overs, Roach and Gabriel failed to make an early breakthrough; they didn't bowl in the correct channels which allowed the English batsmen to settle. Both Burns and Sibley batted well in the first hour of the game to give their squad a steady start.
Captain Holder decided to introduce Roston Chase into the attack as he was desperately looking to break the opening stand. Chase struck immediately as he got Rory Burns LBW out for 15 runs. England lost the wicket on the stroke of the Lunch and were 29/1.
