England opener Jonny Bairstow who has been consistently scoring runs for his team at the ICC World Cup 2019 reached a personal landmark at the showpiece event. The aggressive strokemaker became the second English batsman after Joe Root to score over 500 runs in the marquee event. Bairstow who came into the World Cup finals against New Zealand with 496 runs in his kitty, got to the milestone after he scored 4 runs in his innings against England at the Lord's cricket ground. Bairstow has been in sizzling form for England notching up two tons and two half tons in 11 innings for his nation. He has scored his runs at a brisk pace with 11 sixes in the tournament. England did well with the ball to restrict New Zealand to 242-run target in the grand finale being played at the historic Lord's cricket ground. Henry Nicolls top scored for the Kiwis with 55 runs and wicket-keeper batsman Tom Latham chipped in with a valuable 47-run knock. Chris Woakes and Liam Plunkett picked up three wickets each for England. As per the last match update on the ICC World Cup finals, England chasing a 242-run target were 42 for 1 after 13 overs.
