Dwayne Bravo Achieves Monumental Milestone!!!!Becomes First Bowler To Claim 500 T20 Wickets

Bravo achieved the landmark during the CPL match between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks. St Lucia Zouks’ opener Rahkeem Cornwall happened to be Bravo's prized 500th wicket when he dismissed the big and burly spin all-rounder in the fourth over of the match.

West Indies star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo scaled a monumental milestone on Wednesday as he became the first bowler to claim 500 wickets in T20 cricket. Bravo achieved the landmark during the CPL match between Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks which the former won by 6 wickets. St Lucia Zouks’ opener Rahkeem Cornwall happened to be Bravo's prized 500th wicket when he dismissed the big and burly spin all-rounder in the fourth over of the match.  Bravo went on to claim the wicket of Roston Chase, clean bowling him before rain stopped play. “It’s a great journey, I want to say thanks to all my team-mates. Thanks to all the teams that I play for around the world,” Bravo told Star Sports. “To be able to achieve that right here at home - this is where I started playing cricket you know? At age 8. It’s where it all started for me and I can’t be happier to get that 500 here at the Queen’s Park Oval.” Bravo is the highest wicket taker in the shortest form of the sport sitting atop the list of wicket-takers with 500 scalps in his kitty. He is ahead of second placed Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga 390 wickets) by quite a fair margin. Meanwhile Bravo's West Indies team mate Sunil Narine in on the third spot with 383 wickets to his name. Bravo, who has been an important member of West Indies’ two World T20 title campaigns – in 2012 and 2016 – has been a globe trotters of sorts playing in almost all the major T20 cricket leagues around the world, including the Indian Premier League (IPL), Big Bash League (BBL), Bangladesh Premier League, Pakistan Super League (PSL) and more. Bravo is hailed by experts and his peer as one of the most versatile players in the shortest format and continues to be a star attraction in T20 cricket globally. “This is a batsman’s game. We bowlers have it very hard. My position is I bowl at the back end of the innings to some quality players,” added Bravo. “So yes, I accept the fact that I go for runs, but as you can see, I also get wickets as well. And that is a part of the game. For me to dominate a batsman friendly game like this - I’m happy.” The West Indian seam all-rounder has been a star player for 3-time IPL Champions Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and will be seen in action in the thirteenth edition of IPL in the UAE following the conclusion of CPL 2020 which is being played in Trinidad and Tobago.
